LCSC men roll to 71-45 win
over Great Falls

quickness to force 27
turnovers and hitting 10 of
its first 13 3-point shots,
the Lewis-Clark State
College men’s basketball
team made quick work of the
University of Great Falls in
rolling to a 71-45 Frontier
Conference win at the LCSC
Activity Center on Thursday
night.
The Warriors, 2-0 in league
and 11-5 overall, won their
fifth straight game by
forcing 10 turnovers and
hitting six 3-pointers in
the first 10 minutes of the
game to grab a 23-6 lead.
Great Falls, 0-3 and 4-9,
never got closer than 14 the
rest of the way and trailed
by as much as 33 in the
second half.
LCSC used turnovers to spark
its fastbreak offense, and
with the Great Falls defense
packed inside to stop senior
post Mike Gordy, the
Warriors found the 3-point
line inviting and finished
10-of-17 from the arc for
58.8 percent.
Gordy, who was a second-team
NAIA All-American last
season, finished with 19
points on 7-of-10 shooting
from the field. He also hit
2-of-3 from the 3-point
line. He also had a
game-high eight rebounds,
and added two assists and a
steal.
Junior guard Justin Fraser
scored 16 points off the
bench, hitting 4-of-5
3-point shots, while Rob
Comer (shown above) added 12
points and hit both of his
3-point attempts. J.R.
Gordon added seven points,
four assists, seven
rebounds, and four steals,
while Brian Duckworth also
had seven points with five
assists and two steals.
As a team, LCSC was 27-of-56
from the field for 48.2
percent. The Warriors were
above 50 percent for most of
the night until cooling off
at the end of the game.
The Warrior defense held
Great Falls to just 16-of-48
shooting for 33 percent
accuracy.
Jay Jamison led the
Argonauts with 11 points,
while Rayshaun Ames had 10.
The Warriors will be back in
action on Saturday night
when they play host to
Montana State-Northern at
the Activity Center. Tipoff
is at 8 p.m.
