LCSC has three
basketball players
selected as Daktronics
NAIA Scholar-Athletes
KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Lewis-Clark State College
seniors Vanessa West and
Karl Stedman and junior Kim
Preston were named to the
2007-08 NAIA Division I
Basketball Daktronics NAIA
Scholar-Athletes, the NAIA
announced this week.
In order to qualify for the
honor, a student-athlete
must be a junior or above in
academic standing, has been
attending the institution
for at least one full year,
and have a minimum grade
point average of 3.50 or
better on a 4.0 scale at the
time of the nomination.
The NAIA recognized 135 male
and 73 female
student-athletes as
Daktronics NAIA
Scholar-Athletes.
West, a 6-foot-1 post from
Jerome, Idaho, is majoring
in Communications at LCSC.
She started 31 games this
season and averaged 8.4
points and 5.4 rebounds per
game.
Preston, a 5-9 guard from
Bellingham, Wash., is a
Kinesiology major. Preston
led the Warriors in
3-pointers with 57 this
season and averaged 6.6
points per game. She
finished among the national
leaders in assist/turnover
ratio.
Stedman is a 6-0 guard from
Sitka, Alaska, and is
majoring in Business
Administration. He played
in 30 games and started one
this season and shot 51.9
percent from the field.
