LEWISTON, Idaho – Members of the Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team stepped away from the basketball court and into Halloween costumes for a day to volunteer for the Hells Gate Haunted Hay Ride last Saturday.
Hosted by Hells Gate State Park, the fundraiser, which was open to the public, had more than 600 people attend and experience a festive hay ride through the park. Proceeds from the event went to Hells Gate State Park and the Lewiston YWCA.
With 15 athletes and the coaching staff in attendance, the Warrior basketball team made up almost half of the event’s volunteer staff and served an instrumental part in various scenes throughout the hay ride.
The Warriors kickoff their season this Friday in College Place, Wash., against Johnson and Wales University. LCSC will then host its home-opener on Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. against Northwest Christian University.
