CALDWELL - Lewis-Clark State College seniors Tanner McIntosh and Daniel Williams were both selected to the five-player Golden Rule Shootout All-Tournament team for their play in helping the Warriors go 2-0 on Friday and Saturday.
Williams, a 6-foot-4 guard from Los Angeles, and McIntosh, a 6-8 forward from Imbler, Ore., helped LCSC defeat host College of Idaho 76-69 and Northwest University 83-70 to help the Warriors improve to 6-1 on the season.
Williams had 18 points against College of Idaho on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and he also had three rebounds, five assists, a steal and a blocked shot. He then followed that up with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting against Northwest. He also grabbed seven rebounds, had seven assists and two steals.
McIntosh had 12 points in LCSC's opener on 6-of-12 shooting and added three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot. He then tied for game-high scoring honors with 21 points against Northwest on 8-of-11 shooting. He also had seven rebounds, an assist, a blocked shot and a steal.
The pair were joined on the all-tournament team by College of Idaho's Matt Ballenger, Westminster's Blair Prowse and Northwest's Jason Waltman. No tournament MVP was named among the five.
LCSC resumes action at home this week when it plays host to the four-team Cannon's Building Materials Center Tournament at the LCSC Activity Center. On Friday, Evergreen State and Montana State-Northern tip things off at 5 p.m., followed by LCSC and Eastern Oregon at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Eastern Oregon and MSU-Northern play at 5 p.m., followed by LCSC and Evergreen State at 7 p.m.
