Frontier Conference honors LCSC's Monroe
1/4/2010
Lewis-Clark State College junior guard Markus Monroe has been named the Frontier Conference’s Player of the Week for his play last week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Monroe came off the bench to help the Warriors earn a split last week in their two regular season games. LCSC fell to Wisconsin-Stout 82-80 on Monday, then lost to the University of Idaho in an exhibition game in Boise on Tuesday 71-52, but bounced back to defeat Walla Walla University 83-82 on Saturday.

In the two counting games, the 6-foot-2 native of Monrovia, Calif., averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals. He hit 50 percent from the field (11-of-22) and 94 percent at the free-throw line (17-of-18). In the exhibition game, he tied for team-high honors with 10 points.

The Warriors, 9-5 overall, resume play on Thursday when they kick off Frontier Conference action by playing host to the University of Great Falls at 8 p.m. in the LCSC Activity Center.
