The Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team moved back into the NAIA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll this week by claiming the No. 25 spot.
LCSC, which was ranked No. 21 two weeks ago, went 1-1 on a road trip after that and not only fell out of the Top 25, but received only one vote. This week, the Warriors again went 1-1, but defeated then-No. 21 Montana State-Northern. That impressed the voters, who gave the Warriors 68 points this week, which was good enough for No. 25.
The Warriors are 14-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play, which leaves it in a three-way tie for second. Westminster, at 5-2 in league and 17-4 overall, is in first place and climbed seven spots in this week’s poll to No. 16.
LCSC plays four of its final seven games on the road, all in conference play, starting this week with games against Montana Tech on Friday and Montana Western on Saturday. Both games begin at 6:30 p.m.
The top four spots in the poll remain unchanged as Robert Morris of Illinois drew seven first-place votes to hold the top spot, while Concordia of California had the other five votes and held down second. LSU-Shreveport is third and Mountain State is fourth.
