BRIAN GARDNER 13 6-1 175 Guard Fruitland, ID
Brian redshirted at Boise State University in 1995-96, and then went on a two-year LDS mission to Colorado. That leaves Brian as a 20-year-old freshman, which will prove to be exciting for Warrior faithful. In 1995 during his senior year at Fruitland High School he was named Idaho A-3 Player of the Year, a season that saw him average 22.8 ppg and 6.5 rpg. He was twice selected to the All-Conference team and was chosen WIC Conference MVP. Brian has tremendous leaping ability and was the winner of the Idaho Slam Dunk contest. An all-around athlete he was picked as a first team All- State wide receiver in 1994.
COACH PFEIFER ON BRIAN GARDNER: "We tried to convince Brian two years ago before he left on his mission to come and play. We have been eagerly waiting for him to get to Lewiston. When people first see Brian, his ability to get off the ground will be what people notice first, however he is a very good perimeter shooter and has excellent defensive footwork. We have been impressed with how quickly Brian has gotten his legs and shooting eye back. We believe Brian should see quality minutes right away as a freshman."
