| In 1996, Issac
was named the Hawaii High School Player of the Year while playing at Moanalua High School.
He scored 17.9 points an grabbed 7.9 rebounds per game and was named a McDonalds
All-American honorable mention selection while leading his team to a state championship. Issac signed with Hawaii Pacific out of high school and redshirted. He then transferred to Eastern Ariziona Community College where he averaged 14.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, earning him ACCAC Region I and all-conference honors. Coach Pfeifer on Issac Castro: "In our recruiting for this years team, we were looking for a power forward that possessed the ability to play facing the basket and next to the basket. Issac is a prototype of that description. Issac brings us an inside forward that can really get from baseline to baseline in a hurry." |
