Assistant Coach Jacob Wonders

Jacob Wonders enters his first season as assistant coach at Lewis-Clark State College. He spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, where he was responsible for floor coaching, the team travel plans, scouting of opponents and film coordinator. At Lamar, in 2000, he helped guide the Cardinals to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1983. He also directed the Lamar Summer basketball camps in 1998 and 1999, as well as working camps at his alma mater, Central Michigan University, and the University of Michigan.

Wonders graduated from Central Michigan University in 1997 with an undergraduate degree in Sports Studies and then received his master’s in kinesiology from Lamar in 2000. At CMU, Wonders served as a student assistant coach from 1993-’97. He was also a nominee for the Jane McNamara Outstanding Physical Education Major Award (1996-’97) at CMU.

The Detroit, MI-native is also teaching kinesiology at Lewis-Clark State College. Wonders is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the Beta Delta Chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa.
