Warriors are Dynamite in Victory Over Orediggers, 119-78
LEWISTON, ID--Beau Barney scored 21 of his career-high 29 points in the first half to help lead Lewis-Clark State to a 119-78 demolition of Frontier Conference rival Montana Tech, Saturday night at Warrior Gymnasium. The win extends LCSC’s winning streak to five games and six straight wins at home.
Lance Pecht netted 18 points and Brian Meneely added 17 for Lewis-Clark State (15-5, 4-0 Frontier). Jason Brazier and Sta’Fon Lawson chipped in with 14 and 13 points respectively. Lawson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Chris Allen tied a season-best with seven assists.
Jason Murphy recorded a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds for Montana Tech (6-16, 1-3). Newell Roche and David Scott each added 15 points.
The Warriors used a 15-5 run midway through the first half to pull out to an 11-point lead. Then, L-C went on a 19-4 run, just moments later, to blow the game wide open, 51-26. The Warriors made 60.5% of their shots in the first half. The second half was also controlled by L-C, which led by as many as 40 points before the final 41-point spread.
