Warriors Hold Off the Blues, 97-85
LEWISTON, ID--Brian Meneely led six Warriors in double
figures with 22 points in Lewis-Clark State's 97-85 win over Capilano College of
North Vancouver, B.C., Friday night, at Warrior Gymnasium. The game for
Capilano College was an exhibition game.
Meneely scored 16 of his points in the first half to lead Lewis-Clark State
(6-4). Beau Barney tallied 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Sta'Fon Lawson registered 17 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.
Jason Brazier added 14 points and Josh Wilson and James Idoko chipped in with 11
points apiece.
Choyal Brown scored a game-high 27 points and Sean Newland recorded a
double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds for Capilano (9-6). Jay Lee
was one rebound shy of a double-doble, 16 points and nine boards.
Capilano College led for almost the entire first half, and took a 47-46 lead
into the break. But, in the second half, the Blues went ice cold from the
floor, going almost four minutes without a point (0-5 FG%), and L-C went on an
11-0 run capped by a free throw from Brazier to make it 65-59 with 11:05
remaining.
LCSC would lead by as many as 11 points, late in the second half, before winning
by 12.
