Warriors Down Trojans, 89-73
LEWISTON, ID--Sta'Fon Lawson scored 14 of his game-high
20 points in the first half of Lewis-Clark State's 89-73 win over Southern
Alberta Tech, Saturday night at Warrior Gymnasium. The Warriors forced 33
turnovers and made 21-of-34 free throws.
Jason Brazier added 18 points for Lewis-Clark State (7-4) and James Idoko
chipped in with 12 points coming off of the bench. Chris Allen registered
11 points. Lawson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Rod Barnett led SAIT (5-6) with 19 points and 11 rebounds and Eddie Richardson
tallied 17 points as a reserve. Joseph Palmer and Mike Raimbault added ten
points apiece.
LCSC had built up an 18-point lead with 4:52 remaining in the first half, but
the Trojans would go on a 19-0 run to close out the half with a 41-40 lead.
In that stretch, the Warriors missed all four shots and turned the ball over
five times.
The Warriors trailed for much of the second half, but finally took the lead for
good on a layup by Allen, at the 7:36 mark, making the score 65-63. L-C
would then go on a 12-4 run to push the game into double figures.
