Meneely Named to 2002 Verizon All-District VIII College Men’s Basketball Team
LEWISTON, ID-Lewis-Clark State College’s Brian Meneely (Kennewick, WA/Kennewick HS) was named to the 2002 Verizon All-District VIII College Men’s Basketball Team, released Thursday, February 21st. Meneely is now eligible for the College Division Academic All-America Team to be released later on this year.
Meneely, a 6-2 junior guard, is averaging 14.6 points per game, 4.1 assists per game, and 3.1 rebounds per game. He has also started in all 29 games thus far. Meneely currently holds a 3.78 grade point average at LCSC.
Joining Meneely on the All-District VIII team are: Bob Donlan, Claremont-Mudd-Scrips; Kris Cox, Albertson College; Chase Williams, Whitworth College; and, Mike Gartner, Chapman University.
Named to the second team were: Chris Johnson, Oregon Tech; Rob Bell, Whitman; Nick Johnson, Seattle Pacific; Scott Salisbury, BYU-Hawaii; and, Brannon Stone, Seattle Pacific.
District VIII College Division comprises all NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. Nominees are submitted by Sports Information Directors that are College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members.
