Warriors Jump in to Poll at #23
LEWISTON, ID-The Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team is ranked for the first time since the January 8, 2001 poll. The Warriors enter the poll at #23 in the NAIA Division I Top 25 Poll released Tuesday, February 5th. On January 8, 2001, the Warriors were ranked #21.
Lewis-Clark State (18-7, 7-2 Frontier) rolled to a pair of victories last week. The Warriors rolled past Montana State-Northern, 88-62, and then routed Great Falls, 105-79. L-C will take its first national ranking of the year, on the road to Butte and Dillon, this Thursday and Saturday.
Biola University (23-1) reclaims the top spot, garnering nine first place votes after Georgetown College (25-1), who just moved into the top spot last week, lost last week, falling to number two. Mountain State University (21-2) remains third, but does receive a first place vote. Southern Polytechnic State University (20-2) is fourth, and Union University (22-3) remains fifth.
Carroll College (20-5) moves up six spots to #11 and is the only other Frontier Conference team that is ranked in the current poll. Carroll won last night, 87-55, over Montana Tech. Westminster College picked up 17 votes.
