Wilson, Meneely, and Allen Named Academic All-America
LEWISTON, ID-Lewis-Clark State College’s Josh Wilson (Orofino, ID/Orofino HS), Brian Meneely (Kennewick, WA/Kennewick HS) and Chris Allen (Spokane, WA/Spokane CC/North Central HS) were named to the 2002 Men’s Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes Team, released this past weekend.
Wilson, a 6-10 senior center, registered a 3.58 GPA in Information Systems at LCSC. He averaged 6.4 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, and blocked a team-high 27 shots. Wilson scored a season and career-high 20 points against Montana-Western, January 10th, at Warrior Gymnasium.
Meneely, a 6-2 junior guard, posted the squad’s highest GPA, a 3.77 in Secondary Education. This past season, he averaged 14.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, and 3.9 apg. Meneely, who started all 33 games this season, also made 41.6% (64-154) of his 3-point field goals, and 81.4% (105-129) of his free throws. He was also named to the Verizon All-District VIII College Academic Team this season.
Allen, a 6-1 junior guard, earned a 3.75 GPA in Kinesiology. In his first
season with the Warriors, Allen averaged 6.5 ppg, 3.6 apg, and made 40.4%
(36-89) of his shot from behind the arc. Allen also made 82.9% (58-70) of his
shots from the charity stripe.
