2001-02: Played in 13 games before breaking his hand right before
Christmas...Recorded two double-doubles in that span...Shot 63.2% from the field,
while averaging almost 10 points per
game...Averaged 5.1 rebounds per game...Had a team-high 21 points against
Albertson College...Led the team in rebounding on two different nights,
with his high of 14 coming in a 102-70 win over Southern Alberta Tech
on December 8, 2001...Coach Pfeifer on Lester: "When Lester came into our program last year, it was obvious
he had not played in close to two
years. Without question, he was truly rusty. What we learned is there
is a direct correlation between his physical condition and his performance.
Each day he got into better shape, we saw more production. Prior
to his season ending injury just before Christmas, he was producing
on the court the way we had envisioned and knew he could. Currently, he is
in the best shape he has been in since becoming a Warrior.
We are expecting him to not only leave off where he ended, but be
a very valuable presence in our scheme right away. His size and strength
will be counted on to provide much needed inside scoring and rebounding.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended Southeastern Community College in West
Burlington, IA...Helped lead the Blackhawks to the 2000 NJCAA National
Tournament...Averaged 3.7 ppg and 6.8 rpg as a freshman (1998-99) and was injured for part
