Nelson garners Frontier Conference honor

Lewis-Clark State College’s Janeen Nelson, a 5-foot-9 senior guard from Roosevelt, Utah, was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week for her performance in the Staples Classic last weekend. 

Nelson helped the Warrior women’s basketball team defeat both Evergreen State 77-43 and Eastern Oregon 75-52. For the weekend, Nelson averaged 19 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals. She hit 65 percent of her field goals and 62 percent of her 3-point field goals. She was named the MVP of the tournament. 

Also nominated for the weekly award were Laura Keaster of the University of Great Falls, Keri Siewert of Rocky Mountain College and Katherine Sunwall of Montana Western.
