LCSC falls to Boise State in
exhibition contest 76-62

BOISE, Idaho – Despite
leading by nine points at
halftime, the Lewis-Clark
State College women’s
basketball team ran into
foul trouble in the second
half and fell to Boise State
University 76-62 in an
exhibition contest at the
Taco Bell Arena on Sunday.
LCSC, which remains 2-0 on
the season, led 34-25 at
halftime, but picked up nine
fouls in the four minutes of
the second half and Boise
State responded with a
19-of-23 effort at the foul
line in the final 20 minutes
to claim the victory.
The Warriors held the
Broncos to just 35.5 percent
shooting from the field, but
BSU held a 48-33 rebounding
edge, including 19 offensive
rebounds.
LCSC hit 21-of-55 shots from
the field for 38.2 percent,
but cooled off in the second
half after hitting nearly 50
percent from the field in
the first half.
Mandy Troutt led the
Warriors with 15 points on
5-of-7 shooting from the
field, and six rebounds.
Sadie Short added 13 points
and five boards, while
Breianna Gaines had 12
points. Katie Hart added six
assists and two steals for
LCSC.
The Warriors resume action
with a two-game road swing
to California this week.
LCSC, ranked No. 12 in the
NAIA preseason poll, takes
on No. 16 Azusa Pacific on
Friday at 4 p.m. in Azusa.
The Warriors then battle
Hope International on
Saturday at 5 p.m., in
Fullerton, Calif.
