EVENTS:
Men’s basketball:
vs. Biola University, Friday, 7 p.m., LCSC
Activity Center.
Men’s
basketball:
The Warrior men wrap up a
tough non-conference schedule stretch on
Friday when LCSC plays host to Biola
University of the Golden State Athletic
Conference.
LCSC stands 6-4 on the season
after posting a 4-2 record in three
consecutive tournaments during the past
three weekends. Last week, the Warriors
defeated Corban College 68-53, but fell to
undefeated Oregon Tech 60-56.
Biola brings a 6-2 mark to
Lewiston in what appears to be a fairly even
matchup. The two teams have one common
opponent in Point Loma Nazarene, which is
ranked No. 30 in the NAIA. LCSC lost to
Point Loma by four points earlier this
season on a neutral court, while Biola lost
by three points on the road.
Biola features a balanced
attack as five players are averaging in
double figures. As a team, Biola is
averaging 84 points a game.
Junior Danny Jones, a
6-foot-7 forward, leads Biola in scoring at
15.3 points per game and also is
contributing 7.6 rebounds. Rocky Hampton, a
6-8 freshman, is averaging 14.6 points and a
team-high 7.9 rebounds a game.
Mike Gordy and Teran Lee
continue to lead the Warriors in scoring and
both are averaging over 12 points a game.
This is the first of six
consecutive home games for the Warrior men.
LCSC will play host to the University of
Fraser Valley in women’s and men’s
doubleheaders on Dec. 20 and 21, both
starting at 6 p.m. LCSC will also host
doubleheaders against Bethany College on
Dec. 29 and 30, and then will open Frontier
Conference play on Jan. 6 at home against
Westminster. |
