Lewis-Clark State College will be holding its third annual version of “American Idol” auditions for national anthem singers and musicians to perform during the 53rd annual Avista NAIA World Series as well as for home athletic events throughout the 2009-10 academic year.
The tryouts will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 4-6 p.m. in the LCSC Activity Center if it is raining, or directly in front of the main grandstand at Harris Field if it is not raining. The tryouts are free and open to the public, and winners and participants from last year also are urged to try out again.
The tryouts will consist of filling out an information sheet about the performer that includes name and a phone number, and then either singing or performing the American national anthem. Singers will perform without music, unless accompanied by musicians, while both solo and group musicians trying out must be prepared to audition as well.
No pre-registration is necessary. Anyone interested just needs to show up between 4-6 p.m., but should know the words to the national anthem. Contestants also must be able to sing in front of as many as 5,000 people prior to a World Series game.
For more information or if someone is interested but can’t make the allotted times, please contact Bert Sahlberg at (208) 792-2200 (office) or e-mail bhsahlberg@lcsc.edu.
