Upcoming LCSC events and promotions
JAN. 7 – WAA AND LCSC ALUMNI PIZZA FEED – All Warrior Athletic Association members and LCSC alumni, along with their family and guests, are invited to a free pizza feed at 5:30-6 p.m. in the upstairs conference room of the LCSC Activity Center. WAA members and alumni also will receive free tickets to the LCSC-Great Falls doubleheader starting at 6 p.m.
JAN. 9 – LCSC CANNED FOOD DRIVE FOR TICKETS – Anyone bringing two cans of food will be admitted free to the LCSC-Montana State-Northern women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader, starting at 6 p.m. at the LCSC Activity Center. Bring the cans to the main lobby of the Activity Center and turn them in for tickets during 5-8:30 p.m. Also, the women’s and men’s teams will autograph team posters after the respective games for fans of all ages.
JAN. 11-15 - TENNIS LESSONS – Lewis-Clark State College tennis coach Kai Fong and his staff at the LCSC Tennis Center are offering tennis lessons during this week. The lessons are at 5-6 p.m. and are as follow: Monday – beginning juniors and beginning intermediates. Tuesday -adults. Wednesday – high school varsity. Thursday – high school rookies and intermediate juniors. All junior lessons are $5 an hour while the adult lessons are $7 an hour. No pre-registration is required. Just show up at the scheduled times. Tennis racquets and balls will be provided. For more information, call (208) 792-2309.
JAN. 15-16 - EAGLES POKER TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER FOR LCSC ATHLETICS – The Clarkston Eagles Lodge is holding a Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament which serves as a fundraiser for the Lewis-Clark State College athletic department. The tournament features a $10,000 guaranteed pay out. Three will be three sessions of play, one on the evening of Jan. 15 starting at 6 p.m., and then at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Jan. 16. There is a limit of 100 players per session but players can take part in more than one session. The top 10 players from each session advance to a final session at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16. Payout will be based on a percentage with the top 10 guaranteed money. The entry fee is $100, which buys 7,000 in chips. There is one additional add-on at the start of play for $100 – 7,000 more in chips – and then a second add-on for the same amount of money and chips will be allowed after the second round of play has been completed. Up to two re-buys are allowed within the first 40 minutes of play if only one add-on is used and the chip count is below 2,500. There also will be sit-and-go tables available. JAN. 16 - LCSC TENNIS MARATHON – The Lewis-Clark State College tennis teams are holding their 22nd annual Tennis Marathon fundraiser, which also helps raise tennis awareness in the area. Anyone interested in playing is invited to play with or against current Warrior players as they strive to keep all four courts occupied for 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. that day. Donations are encouraged and proceeds will go to help fund the program. Registration is available online at www.lcsc.edu/tennis/ and clicking on the Tennis Marathon lettering.
