The Lewis-Clark State College athletic department was honored as the 2012 Volunteer of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis-Clark Valley.
LCSC associate athletic director Brooke Cushman (pictured left alongside Boys & Girls Club Director Jon Evans) accepted the award on the department’s behalf at a ceremony earlier this year.
“The Volunteer of the Year Award goes to an outstanding individual or organization, who through their volunteer efforts, delivers outstanding service, commitment and dedication to helping the Boys & Girls Clubs carry out their Mission,” said Club spokesperson Bev Yochum. “The LCSC athletic program has been a stellar contributor to the Boys & Girls Clubs for many years. Athletes from its various teams have volunteered at our Clubs, in our programs and at our events for quite some time. Additionally, LCSC athletic administrators have looked for ways for LCSC athletics and the Boys & Girls Clubs to collaborate in a wide variety of ways, with one goal in mind…helping children and youth succeed. The Boys & Girls Clubs are very proud to have the LCSC athletic program as their 2012 volunteers of the Year.”
The Lewis-Clark State athletic department volunteers at various Boys & Girls Club functions throughout the year, and has a firm commitment to community involvement.
