HINES LEADS WARRIORS TO 3-0 CONFERENCE RECORD Lewis-Clark
Defeats Westminster Behind Freshman's Five Service Aces Sept. 26, 2003
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Junior Addy Hines (Kalispell, Mont.)
recorded a match-high 15 kills and six blocks as Lewis-Clark State
defeated Westminster College on Friday night to improve to 14-5 overall
and 3-0 in conference.
Freshman Dawn Ingham (Capistrano Beach, Calif.) and
senior Amy Flaig (Missoula, Mont.) came up huge on the offensive end for
the Warriors. Ingham, in her best performance to date, recorded a
career-high five service aces in the win. She also added four digs on
the defensive end. Flaig continues to dominate the court as she
registered 13 kills, two blocks, and one dig.
After dropping the first game, the Warriors came back to
win the next three behind the defense of Courtney Callaghan (Missoula,
Mont.) and Anna Johnson (Junction City, Ore.). Johnson recorded
match-highs with 13 digs and 43 assists in the win. Callaghan
continued to play well at the libero position as she added 12 digs to
the defensive effort.
The Griffins were led by Stacie Papanikolos and Stephanie
Smith who recorded 13 and 11 kills respectively. Papanikolos added a
team-high 10 digs in the loss as Westminster dropped to 1-14 on the
season.
The Warriors continue conference play Saturday at Montana
Western before returning home for matches with Rock Mountain on Oct. 3
and No. 20 Carroll College on Oct. 5. Both home games start at
7p.m. in Warrior Gym.
