The Lewis-Clark State
College tennis team has
added a new recruit for the
2008 spring season with
Oliver Stone Intwari
Sindayigaya of Bujumbura,
Burundi, Warrior tennis
coach Kai Fong announced
Friday.
“Oliver has some impressive
results academically and in
the tennis circle in
France,” Fong said. “From
all accounts of his
character references, he
seems to be a very poised
young man who will handle
the challenges of our tennis
program with success. He
will add depth to the men's
team which picked up four
new players in the fall of
2007 (one each from Sweden,
Turkey, France and
Portland). Hopefully, it
won't take him too long to
assimilate the LCSC
culture.”
Sindayigaya, who will be a
freshman, speaks five
languages: Kirundi, Swahili,
French, English, and
Spanish. He attended the
Academie Nouvel Courtois in
Nimes, France during Oct.
2004-April 2006. His field
of study will be either
Computer Science or
Pre-Med.
Sindayigaya has an interview
on Monday with the United
States Embassy in Burundi
and after that, he will make
final arrangements for
travel to Lewiston in time
to start classes on Jan. 14
when the spring semester
begins.
