National Tournament
Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Game 1 vs. Columbia College (Missouri)
10:45 Central/ 8:45 Pacific
Outcome: Victorious.
We arrived in
Jackson Monday afternoon. Seems silly that we didn't
play until today, but we have had plenty to do since we
arrived. Practice, southern bbq, banquet, practice,
games, Rafferty's steak house, parade of athletes,
games, trip to the cinema, games, pizza, Grey's Anatomy.
Perhaps
you've heard of Southern hospitality? It's not a myth,
Jackson feels like home. Kindness isn't in short supply
especially when it comes to our tournament sponsor
Jackson Energy. Two JEA employees have generously lent
us their time and energy to make our stay in Jackson
memorable. Ryan and Kelly have treated us to dinners, a
movie, t-shirts, refreshments during practice,
complimentary fruit baskets and good company. They are
amazing, we LOVE them!
Coming off a
disappointing conference tournament could have been a
momentum killer, but instead we used it to catapult
ourselves into a great first round here at nationals. We
came out strong and pulled away quickly and led by 18 at
half. We let them within 10 in second half but won by
20.
Round one
complete---
16 teams
remain, one goal.
