In 2005-06, the Warriors were ranked 6th in the national poll for four straight weeks and became the 10th Lewis Clark State squad to qualify for the NAIA National Tournament in the last 11 years. The 26 victories were a personal best for Coach Orr, and were the third most wins in a season for the women’s program. So too was the .788 winning percentage. A reoccurring theme for Orr’s teams has been their efficiency on both ends of the court. Last year the team finished in the top 10 in the nation in several statistical categories including: 3rd in rebound margin (+8.33 rpg), 3rd in offensive rebounding (18.09 rpg), 6th in steals (13.49 spg), 7th in scoring margin (+18.64 ppg), 7th in turnover margin (+7.42), 8th in assists (17.27 apg), and 9th in scoring, averaging 78.86 points per game. In addition, the Warriors led the Frontier Conference in 11 statistical categories and entered the Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball record book a remarkable 41 times. Before coming to LCSC,
Orr was the top women’s assistant at Montana State University in Bozeman,
Montana. During the 2000-01 campaign, the MSU Bobcats posted the
fourth-best turnaround in NCAA Division I and finished with an 18-10 overall
record and an 11-5 record in
the Big Sky Conference. Prior to his stop in Bozeman, Orr served as the
first women’s basketball coach at the University of Great Falls in 15 years. A native of Livingston, Mont., Orr graduated in 1982, from Eastern Montana College, now known as Montana State-Billings, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education. He received his Master’s of Science Degree in Education from MSU-Billings in 1997. Brian is married to the former Bonnie Olson. The couple has four children, Pat, Casey, TJ, and Bobby.
