For the second time this season, Lewis-Clark State College senior guard Jade Fulbright has been named the Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday. 

Fulbright, a 5-foot-8 guard from Wenatchee, Wash., also won the award in late January. She joins senior post Mandy Troutt as a two-time winner of the award this season. LCSC has won the honor five times this year as Sadie Short nabbed the honor two weeks ago. 

Fulbright helped the Warriors wrap up their consecutive conference title with a pair of road victories last week. In an 81-63 win over Carroll College on Thursday, Fulbright had 12 points, four assists, two steals and two rebounds. She made 4-of-7 field goals and 4-of-6 free throws. 

Fulbright really made her mark in that game by shutting down Carroll’s Jolene Fuzesy, who is the top 3-point shooting in the conference. Fuzesy didn’t even attempt a 3-point shot in the game and went 5-for-12 from the field. 

Against Rocky Mountain on Saturday, Fulbright had 14 points, three assists, three rebounds, and six steals in a 78-54 win. Fulbright was 7-of-9 from the field and both misses were on 3-point attempts.  Fulbright now has 335 steals in her career, just 11 behind LCSC’s all-time career leader Amanda Campbell, who has 346. 

The men’s Player of the Week was Danny Reeder of Westminster College. LCSC’s Mike Gordy also was nominated for the award.
