WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Down by one point late in the second half, the Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team scored eight unanswered points in the final minutes to seal a 84-76 win over Corban College at the Kim Evanger Raney Classic on Friday night.
The Warriors are now 5-3 on the season as they prepare to take on Northwest University on Saturday at 4 p.m. as the Whitman College tournament in Walla Walla continues.
LCSC went on a 31-11 run late in the first half and held a 48-33 lead at halftime, but Corban used accurate shooting to claw back into the game. Overall Corban shot 52.7 percent from the field while LCSC shot 46.3 percent.
LCSC was led by Kim Preston and Nikkie DePeel, who both tallied 18 points. Also in double-digits were Sadie Short, who finished with 15, and Jasmine Stohr, who had 13. Short led the team with nine rebounds, and Kenna Reiter led the Warriors with six assists.
