The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team slipped five spots to No. 16 in this week’s NAIA national coaches’ poll after the Warriors suffered their first Frontier Conference road loss in nearly three years.
The Warriors had their 16-game win streak of conference road games snapped last Saturday when they dropped a 93-89 overtime decision to Montana State-Northern. The Warriors rallied from 23 points down in the second half to force overtime.
LCSC wound up with a split on the road to begin conference play to stand 11-4 overall. The Warriors, who were No. 11 the previous week, received 145 points in the poll, one ahead of No. 17 Southern Nazarene. Westminster climbed one spot to No. 20 after winning both of its conference games last weekend.
LCSC resume conference play at home this week, taking on Montana Western on Thursday and Montana Tech on Saturday. Both games begin at 6 p.m.
