Despite winning both of its games at home last week, the Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team slipped one spot in the NAIA Division I Coaches Top 25 poll, dropping to No. 17 on Monday.
The Warriors, 13-4 overall, received 158 points in the poll, which left them seven behind Southern Nazarene of Oklahoma. Southern Nazarene, 14-3, swapped places with the Warriors after being No. 17 a week ago.
Westminster, which is 14-5, is the only other Frontier Conference school to be ranked at No. 21. Carroll and Montana State-Northern both received votes in the poll.
Union of Tennessee remained the unanimous No. 1 pick with all 12 first-place votes. Union is 17-1 on the season. Vanguard is second, Oklahoma City is third and Trevecca Nazarene is fourth as the top four spots remained unchanged from a week ago. Lee, last week’s No. 5 team, fell to No. 8.
The Warriors hit the road for their next three games, playing Rocky Mountain on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Billings, Mont., and then facing Carroll on Saturday at the same time in Helena, Mont. The following week, LCSC heads to Salt Lake City to face Westminster.
