The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team had the 14th best team grade point average among the 200-plus schools in the NAIA for the 2007-08 academic year, according to figures released by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association this week.
The WBCA ranks the Top 25 teams nationally in each classification for its Team Honor Roll, which was released on Monday, and the Warriors finished in the Top 25 in the NAIA for the second straight year.
The LCSC women’s basketball program posted a team GPA of 3.387 during the 2007-08 academic year under coach Brian Orr, which is slightly better than the 3.358 GPA the team posted during the previous academic year.
The Frontier Conference was well represented with five programs in the Top 25.
LCSC is just as successful on the court. This past season, LCSC posted a 29-5 record and won both the Frontier Conference regular season and tournament titles. The Warriors were seeded ninth at the national tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight round. The Warriors have had 17 straight seasons of 20-plus victories and have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament 12 times in the last 13 years.
