BOISE, Idaho - Despite having three players scoring in double figures and a double-double by sophomore post Alyssa Fierro, the Lewis-Clark State College women's basketball team fell to Boise State University 84-64 in an exhibition contest on Sunday.
It was the second exhibition game of the season for LCSC, which fell last Sunday to Washington State University. The Warriors are 2-1 on the season.
Fierro, Jasmine Stohr, and Nikki DePeel all finished with 13 points apiece for LCSC, which trailed 40-28 at halftime. Fierro also had 10 rebounds and one blocked shot, while Stohr and DePeel each had three assists and a steal.
Kirsi Voshell added nine points and six rebounds for the Warriors.
Boise State, a member of the NCAA Division I Western Athletic Conference, used a 19-2 run in the second half to put the game away.
LCSC finished the contest 24-of-62 from the field for 38.7 percent, and just 4-of-17 from the 3-point line for 23.5 percent. The Warriors, however, did hold a 40-39 rebounding edge.
Boise State, which forced 20 turnovers, finished 32-of-68 from the field for 47.1 percent, and 10-of-20 from the 3-point line for 50 percent.
The Warriors resume regular-season play on Friday and Saturday at the Staples Shootout. Because the Frontier Conference volleyball tournament will take place at the LCSC Activity Center, the Staples Shootout will be played at Lewiston High School's Booth Hall. LCSC meets Corban at 6 p.m. on Friday and then plays Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 4 p.m.
