The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team fell one spot in the this week’s NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll after splitting a pair of games last week.
The Warriors are ranked No. 12 after three weeks at being at No. 11. The Warriors, 23-4 overall, drew 198 points in the poll.
Westminster, which is a game ahead of LCSC in the Frontier Conference standings, moved from No. 14 to No. 11 with 202 points. Westminster is 21-5 overall, but did lose to LCSC in the only meeting between the two teams this season.
LCSC still controls its own destiny in the conference race and needs to win its final three games in order to claim no worse than a tie for the conference title with Westminster. The three victories also would give LCSC the top seed in the Frontier Conference tournament.
The Warriors play two of those three road games this week when they travel to face Carroll College in Helena, Mont., on Thursday and then face Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., on Saturday. The Warriors then wrap up the regular season in Salt Lake City on Feb. 27 against Westminster.
The Warriors are guaranteed to play host to a first-round conference tournament contest, which will be held on March 3.
