Stohr is a finalist for WBCA NAIA All-America Team
3/9/2010

ATLANTA, Ga. – Lewis-Clark State College’s Jasmine Stohr is one of 29 finalists for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s NAIA State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team, WBCA officials announced on Tuesday.

The sophomore from Yakima, Wash., is one of five finalists from Region I, which covers the Pacific Coast. Stohr is now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team, which will be announced March 16 at the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship banquet in Jackson, Tenn.

The 29 finalists were voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the six regions. Stohr was the only player from the Frontier Conference who is a finalist.

Stohr, a 6-foot guard, led a balanced Warrior attack this season by averaging a team-best 15.0 points per game, which ranks second in the conference. She is second on the team in 3-points made with 37 and leads the team with 101 free throws made. She is third on the team in free-throw shooting at 81.5 percent and fourth in rebounding at 3.7 per game. She also is tied for second in assists, is third in blocked shots, and is second in steals.

Stohr earned first-team all-Frontier Conference honors for the second straight season. Last season, she also was chosen the conference’s Freshman of the Year.

Storh is one of three sophomores nominated for WBCA honors. The remaining players are either juniors or seniors.

Also nominated from Region I are Corban sophomore guard Katie Steigleman, Vanguard senior guard Bridgette Reyes, Point Loma senior center Colleen Planeta, and Biola forward Jessilyn Conicelli.
