Stohr earns NAIA honorable mention honors
3/23/2010

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State College sophomore guard/forward Jasmine Stohr has received honorable mention honors to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics 2009-10 Division I Women’s Basketball All-America Team on Tuesday.

The selections are made by the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams.

The honor is one of many for Stohr this season. She also was an honorable mention selection to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America Team as well as a first-team selection to the all-Frontier Conference squad.

Stohr helped LCSC to a 29-6 record and its 14th NAIA national tournament trip in the last 15 years.

The sophomore from Yakima, Wash., led the Warriors’ balanced attack this season by averaging a team-best 15.5 points per game. She finished second on the team in 3-pointers made with 37 and 3-point shooting percentage at .363. She also led the team in free throws made (120), free throws attempted (146) and minutes played this season.

Stohr also finished second on the team in free-throw shooting percentage at 82.2 percent, in assists with 87, and in steals with 67. She was third on the team in blocked shots with 33 and her rebounding average of 3.8 per game was fourth on the team.

Stohr scored a season-high 28 points in LCSC’s 80-60 win over top-seeded Westminster College in the conference tournament title game.

In helping lead the Warriors to their third consecutive tournament championship, Stohr earned first-team all-Frontier Conference honors for the second straight season. Last season, she also was chosen as the conference’s Freshman of the Year.

Whitney Ballinger of Campbellsville (Ky.) and Bridgette Reyes of Vanguard (Calif.) were named the NAIA Co-Players of the Year.
