The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team is ranked No. 13 in this week’s NAIA Women’s Division I Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll, which was released Monday.
The Warriors, 17-3 overall, fell to Westminster last Saturday in the NAIA Game of the Week, which helped Westminster climb two spots to No. 11, while LCSC fell eight spots from No. 5.
The Frontier Conference has four of the top 30-ranked teams in the poll. Following Westminster, 17-4, and LCSC, is Montana Tech, 15-5, tied for the No. 26 spot, while Carroll, 15-6, is at No. 30.
Westminster and Montana Tech are tied for the top spot in the conference at 4-1, while LCSC is a game back at 3-2. Carroll, Montana State-Northern, Great Falls, and Rocky Mountain are all 2-3, while Montana Western in 1-4.
This week, the Warriors play host to MSU-Northern on Thursday and Great Falls on Saturday. Both games are at 6 p.m. and the first game of a women/men doubleheader. Happy Day Restaurants are selling 2-for-1 tickets to Thursday night’s doubleheader at all of its Lewiston and Clarkston locations.
The top four teams from last week’s poll remained in the same spots this week, including Union, which is ranked No. 1 for the 47th straight week.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The next Top 25 poll will be announced on Jan. 31.
