The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team remained at No. 10 in this week’s NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll, the NAIA announced on Monday.
There was only a couple of teams that either moved up or down a spot in the top 10 this week. LCSC, 25-4 overall, received 223 points in the poll to stay at No. 10, one spot behind fellow Frontier Conference member Westminster, 25-5, which had 239 points for the No. 9 spot. Lee University jumped two spots to No. 11 behind LCSC at 209.
The Warriors won twice on the road last week to complete the regular season and claim the No. 2 seed in the Frontier Conference tournament. It’s the third straight year LCSC has been the No. 2 seed and the Warriors won the tournament title the two previous years.
LCSC opens the tournament at home on Tuesday night at 7 against Montana State-Northern at the Activity Center. Because it is the conference tournament, season passes will not be accepted. Ticket prices are $10 for reserved, $7 for general admission, and $5 for students and senior citizens.
If LCSC wins on Tuesday, it will also be home for the semifinals on Friday. The championship game will be played next Monday.
The final regular-season Coaches’ Top 25 poll and 32-Championship qualifiers will be officially announced on March 9 by 1 p.m. PST.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
