The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball program posted the 23rd highest team grade point average among all NAIA schools last year, according to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
The Warrior women had a team GPA of 3.283 during the 2009-10 school year, which earned the program a spot on the WBCA’s Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the NAIA.
This is the fourth straight year the Warrior women’s basketball team under coach Brian Orr has been honored by the WBCA. Last year, the team was No. 6 at 3.530. The program also had team GPA’s of 3.387 in 20007-08 and 3.358 the previous year.
The Warriors earn this academic honor after another successful season on the court. Last season, LCSC posted a 29-6 record en route to its 14th appearance at the NAIA National Tournament in the last 15 years. The Warriors have had 18 straight seasons of 20-plus victories and won the Frontier Conference Tournament title for the third straight season
