For the fifth straight year, the Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team has been honored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association for posting one of the Top 25 team grade point averages in the NAIA.
The Warriors came in at No. 22 in the WBCA’s Academic Top 25 NAIA Team Honor Roll with a team GPA of 3.327. Last year, the team had a 3.283 GPA, which earned it the No. 23 spot.
In 2008, the team had its highest finish in the rankings with a 3.530 GPA, which ranked it sixth among all NAIA programs. LCSC had GPAs of 3.387 in 2007-08 and 3.358 the previous year, all under coach Brian Orr.
The Warriors earn this academic honor after another successful season on the court. Last season, LCSC posted a 29-5 record en route to its 15th appearance at the NAIA National Tournament in the last 16 years. The Warriors have had 19 straight seasons of 20-plus victories and won the Frontier Conference Tournament title for the fourth straight season.
