The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team was ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.
LCSC received 264 points in the poll after garnering 274 points and being ranked No. 4 in the previous poll (Dec. 12). The Warriors are currently 15-2 overall after going 1-1 on the road to start the Frontier Conference season last week.
The top three spots in the poll remained unchanged as Oklahoma City came is at No. 1 with 312 points, Union (Tenn.) No. 2 with 302 points, and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) No. 3 with 292 points.
Westmont (Calif.) and Langston (Okla.) slid past the Warriors and now rank No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Westminster was the only other Frontier school listed in the top 25. The Griffins, currently 9-6 on the year after going 2-0 to start the conference schedule, are ranked No. 24. MSU-Northern and Montana Western, which handed LCSC its loss, received votes but failed to crack the top 25.
Lewis-Clark State will play two games at home this week. On Thursday the team will face Rocky Mountain, and on Saturday the opponent will be Carroll College—both games start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday is Poster Night and will give fans a chance to receive a free poster and get it signed by the Warrior players after the game.
