LCSC women move to No. 7 in NAIA poll
The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team was ranked at No. 7 in the most recent NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Monday.
The Warriors are 17-2 overall and 3-1 in Frontier Conference play having won their last three games.
Last week the Warriors took down Rocky Mountain College 81-63 and Carroll College 65-51. Both games were at home.
Ranked No. 6 in the previous poll, LCSC traded spots this week with Lee University (Tenn.). The Flames garnered 257 points to squeak by the Warriors’ point total of 256.
Westminster College was the only Frontier school listed in the top 25. The Griffins, currently leading the conference with a 4-0 record, moved from No. 24 to No. 21 in this week’s poll.
Montana Western, responsible for LCSC’s only conference loss this season, received votes but was ranked outside of the top 25.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) earned the No. 1 ranking with a current record of 15-2. Oklahoma City, which suffered its first loss of the season to Lubbock Christian last week, dropped to No. 2.
The Warriors have one game on the schedule this week, a home game against Westminster College on Thursday. The contest between the top two teams in the conference standings will start at 5:30 p.m.
