The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team was ranked No. 8 in the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.
The Warriors, currently 21-3 overall and 7-2 in the Frontier Conference, received 241 points in the poll to maintain the same rank they had in the previous poll when they claimed 235 points.
LCSC is on a three-game winning streak after defeating Montana Tech and Montana Western at home last week. This week the team will hit the road to face Carroll College on Thursday and Rocky Mountain College on Saturday.
Westminster, which currently leads the conference with an 8-1 league record, moved from No. 19 to No. 18 in the poll. The Griffins are the only other Frontier team listed in the top 25, although Rocky Mountain and MSU-Northern did receive votes.
The top three spots in the poll remained unchanged as Oklahoma City sits at No. 1, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at No. 2, and Union (Tenn.) is at No. 3.
With a loss to unranked San Diego Christian (Calif.), Westmont (Calif.) fell two spots to No. 6, which opened the door for Lee (Tenn.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) to advance up to No. 4 and No. 5.
