Lewis-Clark State College senior Alyssa Fierro has been selected as the Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
Fierro, a native of Bigfork, Mont., put up big numbers in both of LCSC’s wins on the road last week. The 6-foot-2 post had 14 points, eight rebounds, and a season-high six blocks in the Warriors’ 67-50 win over Carroll. And in the 67-62 win over Rocky Mountain, she collected 15 points, a career-high 19 rebounds, and two steals. She also had one block against Rocky which came in the final seconds and helped fend off the Bear’s comeback attempt.
The award marks the fifth time this season that a Warrior has been chosen for the honor. Jasmine Stohr has garnered the award three times, and Kirsi Voshell once.
