Warrior women slide to No. 13
The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team dropped five spots to be ranked No. 13 in the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.
This is the first time this season that the Warriors have been ranked outside of the top 10.
The slip in the poll comes after suffering a 78-56 setback to then-No. 18 Westminster on Saturday. With the win over LC, the Frontier Conference leading Griffins climbed two spots to No. 16.
LCSC, which garnered 193 points in the poll, is currently 23-4 overall and 9-3 in conference play. The Warriors are two games behind Westminster in the conference standings and have two games left in the conference schedule.
This week the Warriors will play Great Falls on Thursday followed by MSU-Northern on Saturday. Both games are at home and will start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday is Senior Day and will feature a presentation honoring LCSC’s seniors prior to the game.
The top four spots in the poll remained unchanged from last week with Oklahoma City in first, Union (Tenn.) second, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) third, and Lee (Tenn.) fourth.
Westminster and LCSC were the only Frontier teams listed in the poll though MSU-Northern did receive a vote.
