The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team was ranked No. 12 in the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll, announced Monday by the national office.
The Warriors received 181 points to retain the ranking they held in the final regular season poll which was released on March 7.
Lewis-Clark State advanced to the second round at nationals before being defeated by Lubbock Christian (Texas). The Warriors ended the year at 29-5 overall having won their fifth straight Frontier Conference tournament title.
Oklahoma City, which won its sixth national title last week, again grabbed the top spot in the poll. The Stars claimed the No. 1 position in 10-of-13 polls this season and were never ranked lower than third.
National Championship runner-up Union (Tenn.) garnered the No. 2 ranking. The Lady Bulldogs, who were making their fourth-consecutive trip to the finals, fell to Oklahoma City, 69-48. Union has been ranked No. 2 for five-straight weeks and was either No. 2 or 3 in all 13 polls.
Rounding out the top five in the postseason poll are No. 3 Lubbock Christian, No. 4 Westmont (Calif.) and No. 5 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
Surprise Fab Four participant, Georgetown (Ky.) improved the most within the Top 25 by jumping eight spots to No. 11.

Frontier Conference member Westminster, which fell in the second round to Oklahoma City, remained at No. 15.
