Frontier Conference honors
Scott and Alessi again
11-6-07
Lewis-Clark State College
volleyball players Lindsay
Scott and Cintia Alessi have
been received weekly honors
from the Frontier Conference
again, and Scott has earned
Region I honors as well.
For
the third consecutive week,
Scott has been named the
conference’s Libero of the
Week. The 5-foot-8 junior
from Kennewick, Wash., also
was selected as the Region
I’s Libero of the Week and
is now eligible for national
Libero of the Week honors.
Scott helped the Warriors
wrap up the Frontier
Conference regular season
title on the road last
weekend with 3-0 sweep over
Montana-Western and Montana
Tech. Scott averaged 4.75
digs per game and had four
service aces.
For
the third time this season
Alessi has been honored by
the conference, this time as
its Player of the Week. The
5-9 junior outside hitter
from Curtiba, Brazil helped
the Warriors claim their
first conference title since
2003. In the two matches
last week, she averaged 3.5
kills per game with a .260
hitting percentage. She had
19 digs, six service aces,
one solo block and two block
assists.
It’s only fitting the two
players were honored at the
same time. A pulled stomach
muscle forced Alessi to move
from the front row to the
libero early in the season
and she was twice named the
FC’s Libero of the Week. Her
move back to the front row
coincided with Scott taking
over at libero and winning
the award three consecutive
weeks.
The Warriors resume action
on Friday when they open the
Frontier Conference
tournament in Billings,
Mont., against No. 8 seed
Montana-Western at noon
Pacific time.
