The Lewis-Clark State
College women’s
volleyball team moved
one step closer to
clinching the Frontier
Conference’s regular
season crown with its
win over Rocky Mountain
College on Friday night
at the LCSC Activity
Center. The Warriors won
the match in four games
30-23, 25-30, 30-22,
30-17.
“We did some things
well, but we still have
room for improvement...
Overall all though,
Rocky is a really good
team, and we’re glad to
get the win,” Warrior
Head Coach Jen Greeny
explained after the
match.
Rocky Mountain
was able to pull off a
victory against L-C in
Billings, Montana on
September 27, but LCSC’s
offense proved to be too
much for them on Friday
night. The Warriors saw
five players with nine
or more kills. Leading
the way were Anile
Clemente who had 15
kills with a .448
hitting percentage,
Cintia Alessi with 14
kills and 15 digs, Dana
Christiansen with 12,
and Julie Maciboba who
had 11 kills and a .450
hitting percentage.
Maciboba also had 6
service aces, as the
Warriors out-served
Rocky 12 aces to 6. Lisa
Davis and Kim Fong
recorded 32 and 20
assists respectively.
With the win LCSC moves
to 15-5 on the season
and 9-2 in conference
play, while Rocky falls
to 13-13 overall and 8-4
in the conference. With
only three matches left,
the Warriors are just
three wins away from
claiming their first
regular season
conference title since
2001.
The Warriors look to
maintain their perfect
6-0 record at home and
their spot on top of the
Frontier Conference
standings when they take
on Carroll College in
their final home match
of the season on Sunday.
The match begins at noon
and will feature a
tribute to LCSC’s
seniors, Marie Balmer
and Brittney Kubik.
