LCSC
volleyball team's winning
streak finally over
9-27-07
BILLINGS,
Mont. – Enjoying
a seven-game winning streak,
the longest streak since the
team won 10 straight in
2003, the Lewis-Clark State
College women's volleyball
team arrived in Billings,
Montana to face Rocky
Mountain College with high
expectations and the hope of
maintaining its perfect
record against Frontier
Conference opponents.
However, after a very strong
showing from Rocky Mountain
the Warriors left with their
expectations still high, but
their winning streak over.
LCSC fell to the Battlin'
Bears in four games 27-30,
23-30, 31-29, 28-30. With
the win Rocky Mountain
improves to 9-9 overall and
4-1 in conference, and the
Warriors drop to 9-3
overall and 3-1 in
conference.
“They came out the aggressor
tonight. We fell behind, and
just weren’t able to catch
up," stated LCSC head coach
Jennifer Greeny. “They just
flat-out outplayed us, and
credit to them.”
Despite the strong efforts
of Julie Maciboba and
Brittney Kubik who recorded
18 and 14 kills
respectively, Lewis-Clark
State just didn't play well
enough to overcome Rocky
mountain in four very
competitive games.
The Warriors now travel to
one of the loudest and
largest venues in the
Frontier Conference to face
Carroll College. Carroll,
who finished third in the
Frontier Conference in
2006-07, lost to Westminster
1-3 on Thursday night, and
currently holds a 1-4 record
in conference play, and a
7-10 record overall.
