Warriors overcome Carroll in four games

HELENA, Mont. –  After seeing their seven-game winning streak come to a close on Thursday night, the Lewis-Clark State College women's volleyball team did not wait long to take the first step in starting another win streak. On Friday night, the Warriors defeated Carroll College 30-28, 25-30, 30-16, 30-21.   

LCSC coach Jennifer Greeny commented on her team's performance and was sure to emphasize that it was a "team" effort, "We came out more aggressive tonight, and were able to distribute the ball well. A lot of people contributed to this win."

Among the many contributor's for L-C were Anile Clemente who hammered 17 kills and committed only one attack error for an incredible hitting percentage of .552, Julie Maciboba who had 13 kills and 11 digs, and Dana Christiansen and Brittany Kubik who both had 11 kills. Also playing a key part in the win, Lisa Davis had 32 assists and 3 service aces, and Cintia Alessi recorded 20 digs.

With this match Lewis-Clark State improves to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in Conference, and Carroll drops to 7-11 and 1-5.

"This was a huge win for us coming off of a tough loss," said Greeny. "It's a good ending to a hard road trip, and hopefully it will get us back on track for next week."

The Warriors look to carry this momentum into next week as they face the University of Montana-Western on Thursday night, and then Frontier Conference leading Montana Tech, which holds a 12-4 record and is riding a 12 game winning streak, on Saturday.
