SPOKANE – The
Lewis-Clark State
College women’s
volleyball team found
the going a little rough
in its pool opener at
the Region I Tournament,
falling to the
University of Great
Falls 29-31, 30-24,
30-27, 30-23 on
Thursday.
The Warriors, who swept
Great Falls last week in
the semifinals of the
Frontier Conference
tournament, hit only
.112 in the second and
third games combined.
LCSC hit .231 in the
fourth game, but Great
Falls was able to hit
.289.
The loss means the
Warriors will likely
have to win their final
two matches in order to
advance to the semifinal
round. LCSC plays
Southern Oregon later on
Thursday, and then
Oregon Tech on Friday.
Southern Oregon defeated
OIT in a five-game
thriller on Thursday
afternoon.
Anile Clemente led the
Warriors with 16 kills,
while Marie Balmer and
Cintia Alessi had nine
apiece. Julie Maciboba
added eight kills for
LCSC.
Lisa Davis paced LCSC
with 29 assists, while
Lindsay Scott had 24
digs. Alessi had three
of LCSC’s six service
aces.
